What we're about
"When we read, we start at the beginning and continue until we reach the end. When we write, we start in the middle and fight our way out."
In this intimate 6-week class, we will explore the individual and social implications of writing as a personal, psychological, and spiritual practice in the digital age. We will take a brief look at humanity's historical relationship with the diary, and the practice of keeping one. We will cover 4 main writing techniques used throughout the ages by diary keepers to document changing times, transform their problems, and ultimately reach the imperishable, reverent and irreverent True Self. Participants of all skill-levels will have the opportunity to jump-start their journaling habit, express the badass within, and deepen their relationship with self by cultivating new tools for reflection and self-care. Participants will also be invited to share to their journal entries, either with or without input from the class, but always at their discretion. At the end of the 6 weeks, our class will host an open mic night and open reading of original works for eachother and our friends!
This is an intimate class with only 6 reservations per cohort- so jump on it and commit to yourself quick as spots tend to go fast! Happy writing, and Viva La Vie Boheme!!
Wed night meetings: Oct 3, 10, 17, 24 and Nov 7, 14. $195 for all six classes.
*We will be skipping Oct 31st Halloween
