Last email before Saturday:

(Sorry to send it to the whole group, if you are not coming just ignore it... I just don't want anyone who may RSVP in the last minute to miss this email.)

A few things to remember about Dockweiler Beach:

* Parking can be difficult. If you arrive later than noon, the lost may be full, so plan to spend 10-15 minutes looking for a spot. Yes, it's a pain.

* They close at sun down. The last time we did this, we stayed until 8pm or so. I don't think that will happen this year, but in case you plan to stay longer, keep in mind that their "sun down rule" is strictly enforced.

* They do not allow open containers of alcohol. If you must drink, please be creative. Do not bring beer cans, wine bottles or anything else that could get our group in trouble.

* If you RSVP yes, please be there.

If you are coming, don't forget to bring:

*sunscreen / hat / sunglasses

*something to sit on (lawn chair, towel, rug, whatever)

I have picked up hotdogs, buns, condiments, paper plates, napkins, fruits and marshmallows for the group, will bring skewers, but I will NOT bring BBQ equipment (because I don't have any), drinks, ice or anything else. Olivia is bringing Hungarian sausage (hurka and kolbasz) and wine, Catherine is bringing dessert, Julie is taking care of the charcoal for the BBQ. It would be nice if someone could bring a cooler with some drinks, some utensils, etc.

Are any of the others who RSVPed planning to bring anything, or do you just want to do the BYOF (bring your own food) thing? Either way, please update your RSVP to reflect that. Login, click on the event's page, and on the right you will see the list of RSVP's with people's photos. Click on "Change RSVP" and you will be able to enter a comment and let us know whether you plan to bring something or will take care of yourself. Thanks!

Since Julie and I are going there in the morning to reserve a spot, we will have to update this page with the exact location then. Please check the event page in the morning to know exactly what part of the beach to come to! If you end up parking in one lot and have to walk to the other end of the beach, it will be a loooong walk. (I may also send a last minute email with it.) Also, look at everyone's pictures and try to recognize people.

See you soon!

On a side note: we still have members who didn't answer the 4 simple questions on their profile. When you are complaining to me that you didn't really connect with anyone at an event, keep in mind that people look at your profile before coming to a meetup, just to see what language you speak, where you are from, what you do, who you are... And they reach out to those they feel some type of a kinship with. If your profile has no information, don't be surprised if the majority of the members don't feel immediately inclined to talk to you... It takes 2 minutes to answer those questions. Those who did so will tell you that they get emails ad greetings from others all the time. We are all in this group to meet people we can relate to through Hungarian culture, so don't keep an empty profile that none of us relates to. Thanks.
