Hello Everyone.  If you are NOT going to the Forest Pot-Luck this weekend, please reconsider, as it will be a great time not to be missed!

If you are attending, here are some notes.

FOOD:  Please, post on the meet-up page the items you are bringing to eat....drink.....share.  We need to know so we can plan accordingly.  Try to include something to drink.  A bottle of wine would be awesome.  Or something else?  Wrap your food items so they don't spill.  Remember, it is a mountain trail.  If you need a back pack, let me know.  I will have 3 extra in my car which will be at the trail head.

LOGISTICS:  My far.... is to leave Friday night and hike up that evening, taking care of the preparations in the evening.  I then plan to hike back down Saturday morning sometime in the AM to pick up an additional load.  The time I return to the trail head can be adjusted to accommodate people for any number of reasons.  IE: you need hiking buddy, or borrow a pack, or help carry supplies.  I can meet anyone at a predetermined time, as long as you respond here no later that 6:00 Friday evening.  Remember:  there is no internet, or cel service in the mountains, so I will not get your correspondence unless you call the hard line at the cabin.  I will E-mail separately to those attending. Remember also the main parking lot may get crowded, so you have the option of parking in the dirt parking lot for cabin owners.  You have to lift the yellow sign out of the way, drive through a car length, replace sign in hole in asphalt, and proceed with caution to the dirt lot at the trail head.  This all sounds very complex I'm sure, but it will simplify once you see it for yourself.

TIME:  We are telling folks to arrive at the cabin no later than 1:00 PM Saturday.  You may want to start your hike by 11:00 AM.  If you want to start out earlier than that, by all means please do!  Remember, all preparations take more time than you imagine.

I was going to write more notes, but must go to bed.  Will see if I missed anything in the morning.
