What we’re about
We are a group of fun loving Mah Jongg players of various experience levels. We welcome you to join us every Wednesday evening at Kappy's Restaurant on the corner of Harlem & Dempster in Morton Grove/Niles. We start playing around 6:30 to 9:00 but some of us come as early as 5 p.m. to play or grab a bite to eat before the game starts. Kappy's does not charge us a meeting fee, so we ask that you purchase something like a beverage to thank the restaurant owner. Depending upon the time, some people stay later than 9 p.m. but the restaurant does close at 10 p.m.
If you have never played Maj or are 'rusty', we invite you to come & observe. There is a beginners course at some local park districts or senior centers (Skokie & Glenview to name a few).When you feel confident, please feel free to start playing with our group. We are friendly so you can participate at your own speed!
Kappy's is free to our group, however the Meetup Organization imposes a fee every six months. Since I am the organizer, my charge card is automatically charged. We will have a nominal attendance fee of $1.00 per member per meeting.
