Yoga, Mindfulness, Walking May Bank Holiday 2019 Lake District Retreat

This retreat combines yoga, mindfulness, walking and creativity, and is designed to help you relax, stretch and rejuvenate your body, mind and soul, and revive you at many levels as a human being. Take a break from your busy life and join us for a wonderful long bank holiday weekend in the beautiful, majestic Lake District. There are 3 long walks, 4 yoga sessions and plenty more on the timetable to really pamper yourself. Glenthorne is a beautiful house in Grasmere. It has a relaxed welcoming atmosphere, comfortable accommodation, and delicious home-cooked meals in stunning surroundings. Located within 2 minutes walk of the centre of Grasmere village on the road towards Easedale Tarn, it is ideal for walkers of all levels. The house is surrounded by spacious gardens – ideal for relaxing while enjoying stunning views towards Helm Crag and Silver How. The weekend will include four 90-minute yoga classes taught by yoga teacher, Sherin Shefik, who will teach vinyasa flow yoga, infused with yin and restorative yoga. The classes are suitable for all levels. Each class will be designed around one of four natural elements: earth (grounding), air (opening), fire (igniting) and water (letting go). There will also be Yoga Nidra session with Deborah Wharton, an iRest practitioner. There are numerous mindfulness meditations, practices and discussions, which will be led by mindfulness teachers Deborah Wharton and Shenel Shefik. There will be other diverse and exciting activities on the programme too, a poetry workshop (where you will get to try your hand at writing a poem), mindful dance (you might be given a blind-fold!), and a life coaching workshop. There will be 2 walks of moderate skill level of 4/5 miles with a picnic lunch provided. They will be about 2.5 hours and will explore the hills and lakes of the local area. There is also an optional walk on Monday before you leave, where we intend to finish in a local pub for lunch. This lunch is not included in the cost and is optional. Nigel Harding – our walking guide - has walked the Lake District hills, valleys and lakes for many, many years and he will be accompanied by his two very friendly dogs, Bracken and Coco, both poodle cross breeds. Cost for Full Bank Holiday Friday from 3.30pm until Monday 11am – 3 nights, 3 breakfasts, 3 evening meals, 2 packed lunches, plus all activities included £400. £50 single supplement if occupying a twin or double room.
