Your Story is Perfect! Don’t Change a Thing. Well, Except For….

You finished your story. You’re proud of it and should be, but now, it’s time for other eyes to judge your work. Before you fire it off to your agent, publisher, editor, open call, or even your critique group, you should take the time to review and polish your story. Always submit your best work! In this presentation, we’ll cover several easy ways to trim and tighten your prose. This will be especially helpful for short stories that must adhere to a word limit.

Phil Giunta’s novels include the paranormal mysteries Testing the Prisoner, By Your Side, and Like Mother, Like Daughters. His short stories appear in Love on the Edge, Scary Stuff, A Plague of Shadows, Beach Nights, Beach Pulp, and the Middle of Eternity series. As a member of the Greater Lehigh Valley Writers Group, Phil penned stories and essays for Write Here, Write Now, The Write Connections, Rewriting the Past, and Writes of Passage, four of the group’s biennial anthologies. When you go to the meeting, please MUTE YOUR MICROPHONE and turn the ringer down on your cell phone. Presenters will take questions at specific times and at the end during their presentations only. Muting your microphone prevents disruptions to the presenter and the rest of the audience.

Also, please use the Zoom system to change your on screen name to your real name.

This and the subsequent meetings are our first attempt to navigate Zoom for meetings. It's different than an in-person meeting and new to all of us for this function. We will do the best we can to make the meeting valuable, relevant and carry on the tradition of the groups.

ABOUT THE GROUPS - PLEASE READ
2020 is the eleventh anniversary year for the Main Line Writers Group and the ninth year anniversary for the Wilmington/Chadds Ford Writers Group.

There's no fee to be a part of the Meetup notifications. To attend meetings (in person or online), you need to be a paid up member (Annual dues are $50) or contribute a one-time meeting fee of $10. Fees must be paid in advance of the meeting by Paypal with payment to garyzenker@gmail.com. Your contributions cover a variety of expenses including web site hosting, Meetup administration fees (you get the service free but I pay for them), the equipment, batteries, printing, guest speaker meals, etc. for in-person meetings and Zoom online conferencing subscription.
