To register for this event, please visit http://makeict.wildapricot.org/event-3272574 Learn how to use the cnc plasma cutter and Fusion 360 basics! I will quickly go over how to take a black and white image, covert it to an svg using inkscape, and import it into fusion 360. After that we will go into detail on how to program the plasma with fusion 360 for different thicknesses and types of metals while explain some tips, tricks, and how to avoid gotchas. To top things off I have included the post processor, detailed instructions, and all of the tools/feedrates already programmed (and will be sent to you along with a youtube video of the class) so we can focus more on application and less about cnc details. After that we will go to the plasma and cut out the image on the plasma and everyone will get the chance run the plasma from start to finish. Required authorizations: Metalshop

To register for this event, please visit http://makeict.wildapricot.org/event-3328241 The Potters Wheel and the knowledge of its practice has been shared throughout time and is a gift that one may use to create for many of loved ones and for ones self. It is an individualistic practice that takes patience and determination. This class is a means of starting on the potters wheel for ones first time or giving it that "second go" for the eager learner. You will get: Focused, individualized, hands on experience with the instructor on how to learn the basics of the Potters Wheel. Each student will be walked through and carefully guided step-by-step on how to throw, center, and form a basic bowl shape. (your results may vary) With the class size being a smaller, more "limited" class size, the instructor will be able to work with each student carefully, to ensure each individual is shown what they need to work on, as far as technique, proper use, and practical understanding on the potters wheel. ALL clay used in class is included in the class cost as well as the bisque firing and glaze firing. Most other ceramics outlets charge a "Firing Fee" for peoples work to be fired. There is NO ADDED FEE for your work to be fired.
