MiniMakers: Mini Computers aka "Arduino"

Details
We at The Wellington Makerspace think Open-source electronics and Arduinos [or tiny computers] are cool - especially for creating awesome little projects and they can be used to control just about anything :)
Robots, like this: https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQx90QB25g6mNcp6ky2gGuMcJE4oNMiJbMAIEhuec6Rm77MjY1qXw
or voting machines like this: https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQcJPbcKTDUAGxXEq8pGUVcvRjeFZ5x1yHg6tqrab0p-9x3d111tgor even these cool shoes: https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTVl7ZtD71BuKCwnX1IM4vHTla2CgKiU8ZUr2LpDHj7vuoy546g
It's all possible with Arduino!
So we'll be playing [errrr we mean studying hard!] with Arduino's and various bits of electronics to create some cool effects and get your mind whirring....
We'll cover:
The Arduino/Funduino Uno, what it looks like and the other types available Libraries and files Very basic uploading of 'sketches' Some electronic components - LEDs, Resistors, Thermistors, MOSFETs, Piezo buzzers, servos and other cool stuff! How to wire up your circuit and 'breadboarding' How to search for cool arduino projects!
This is quite technical workshop - but very achievable for younger kids - especially if they work in pairs or with a parent! ;)
