19:45 - Modern C++ by Jonas Brandel

Abstract: With the new C++ standards 11, 14 and 17, C++ is now a completely different beast.
You can now write standard C++ code, that is multi-threaded, uses no raw pointers, can pass along objects along with ownership, even between threads without tearing your hair out and not worry about object life-times.
Jonas will show the most important new features of modern C++.
How modern C++ is clean, safe and fast, as clean and secure as code written in any other modern and current language, and with the traditional C++ performance as strong as ever.
You can now even program C++ statically, code executed in the compiler before your program even runs. For instance C++ now allows you to write a Fibonacci implementation with anonymous lambdas and y-combinator.

About Jonas Brandel: Jonas is mostly a self-taught programmer, albeit with a business degree he considers himself having an engineering soul. Jonas has MSc in Business Studies, his trajectory includes an early career as electrician, electrical engineering consultant, and small stint of 18 years working for Microsoft in Dublin and Seattle developing a lot of different software, some patented.

He is a Software as a Service [SaaS] Startup soloprepreneur @ http://www.pagelr.com Founder of http://www.startupmalaga.com and an active member of MalagaMakers.

He is a compulsory expat, born and raised in Sweden but now close to have lived half his life in “foreign” countries, with some 10 years in Ireland, and now the last 14 here in Malaga.
