This stretch of the A6 road leading into Stockport town centre has a cluster of great pubs.
Kick off advent with a mini-crawl of three distinctive pubs on Wellington Road North, the main A6 road, just to the north of Stockport Town Centre.
We start at the Hope, with its wonderful Hardy Crown Ales frontage. Since February this has been a multi-beer free house and has iits own microbrewery brewing its range of Foolhardy ales.
Across the way and a couple of minutes down the hill I the Magnet, Regional and local CAMRA pub of the year for 2011, with a wide range of cask beer, real cider and foreign bottled beers.
Our final stop is at the Railway, another pub of character with a range of beers. This pub features live jazz on Sunday evenings from 9.00pm so we will arrive by 8.30 to ensure we get a seat.
Come along whenever you can make it! We will be joined at this event by members of Manchester Socialites (http://www.manchestersocialites.com) and, for the jazz, members of the Manchester Arts, Music and Culture Lovers (http://www.meetup.com/Manchester-Arts-Music-Culture-Lovers/) Meetup group.
UPDATE: All three pubs are participants in Stockport and South Manchester CAMRA's Winter Warmer Wander promotion:
