Open Mens Meeting
We are a group of men who meet to share our experiences as men, to build leadership, and to offer support through life's challenges. Every meeting starts at 6:30 PM and lasts until about 9:00 pm. Our meetings are very informal and welcoming. We provide a place where any man can come and be embraced for who he is, share whatever he wants, and step into power and leadership. There are no requirements except some simple ground rules, like maintaining confidentiality, etc. Men can attend one or many sessions. Real personal growth can result from the processes and exercises that are practiced in this group. While most of the men in this group are members of the international organization called The Mankind Project, this is not required or expected. Any man may attend.

What we're about

We're men from the Richmond area who are affiliated with Mankind Project, Inc., an international organization that promotes mens leadership, self-improvement, and healthy masculinity through offering support, trainings, and mentorship. We meet twice a month, and our meetings are open to any man who is interested in stepping into power and transformation.

We're a non-religious organization, every belief is welcomed, and our members come from every walk of life. We support men to thrive in every aspect of their lives. ManKind Project helps men discover and live personal missions of service in the world; We are mentors, friends, brothers, and challengers for one another. We strive to be inclusive and affirming of cultural differences, especially with respect to color, class, sexual orientation, faith, age, ability, ethnicity, and nationality.

Our group challenges rigid stereotypes about what it means to be a man, either the "Sensitive New Age Man" or the "Macho Man". We ask men to go right up to the edge - and beyond - in a culture that seems to be comfortable with mediocrity and passivity. We ask men to stop living a vicarious adventure through their TV's and computers and step into real time adventure to win back their passion for life.

We encourage all our members to enroll in the Mankind Project's flagship training, the New Warrior Training Adventure, held 3-4 times a year near DC. Our meetings in Richmond are open to anyone, even if you have not yet done the training.
