Let's Map Old Town Alexandria

Are you new to editing OpenStreetMap? This event will introduce you to surveying street level geographic features and teach you how to enter them into OpenStreetMap. It's a great event to bring your kids, young or old. It's a great event for non-technical folks who are interested in their community.

We'll be mapping Northern Old Town, which is easily accessible by Metro at the Braddock Road station. We'll get amped up and organized at the new Sugar Shack Donuts and split into teams to survey the area. There's lots of new construction to cover here. We'll make our way East-ward and meet up at Charles Houston Recreation Center where we have a quiet room reserved from noon to 2pm.

One option includes getting lunch at Lost Dog Cafe. Another option is to use the latest technology from the American Red Cross called OpenMapKit.
