Geo-Ride Day II at Loveland Ski Area!
Details
Join Maptime Boulder for a day on the slopes! Bring a board or skis and enjoy the spring snow... you don't have to be a black diamond rider to attend! We'll all start together for a number of runs and then split into groups of varying abilities as the mood and numbers dictate.
Bring a device or app for creating a .gpx file of your snow-wanderings! Or a camera with geolocation capabilities and a Mapillary app on your smartphone. We can discuss ideas of how to use this data over lunch (hopefully on a sunny deck), but one thing we can do is design 3-D mementos of our whole day or of our favorite run. Refer to this site:
If a few people are interested in having a memento of their Loveland experience similar to the one in the header image, I can get a few of these printed for cost. Talk to me about the logistics of this on the day, or feel free to hunt down your own 3-D printer.
Loveland is an affordable and approachable ski area. Look for lift ticket coupons or folks with un-used 4-pack tickets (they're transferrable!) and feel free to bring elaborate "sack" lunches... they have a public microwave! Of course Loveland has food and beverages available as well.
Use this spreadsheet (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1tni5wed1g3lR8Mn03Qeipf-SSCXVzxkKF5bi-n6vNT0/edit?usp=sharing) to signup for carpooling from Boulder or the Denver area and follow up as April 6th gets closer (departure times may change due to weather, etc.).
Let's get outside and play with GPS trackers and/or Mapillary on the snow!
