We will again be joining the Coral Reef Alliance to plant native plants to reduce erosion and sediment reaching our coral reefs. We'll also:
- Help protect West Maui Reefs and learn about ridge to reef restoration and ahupua'a management
- Learn about native plants and watershed restoration
- Get some amazing views of Kā'anapali, Lahaina and Lāna'i
If you download the iNaturalist app to your mobile device, we'll have some time to make observations in preparation for the City Nature Challenge event at the end of the month. (It is the app with the white icon and a stylized green bird.)

IMPORTANT: You need to RSVP with the following waiver form prior to the event: https://app.waiverforever.com/pending/UEAAdh6Geg1545343117

The Coral Reef Alliance (CORAL) invites you to join our Native Planting Day on Saturday, February 9th! This is a fun opportunity to ensure Clean Water for Reefs in West Maui!

Your participation is essential to the success of our projects!
Clean water is vital for both communities and coral reefs. Sediment and nutrient pollution from land makes its way to the ocean, threatening coral reef and human health. Revegetating eroding landscapes with plants can stabilize soil, absorb nutrients and sediments, and prevent pollutants from reaching the ocean.

As a volunteer, you will help us revegetate stream banks with native plants, create sand bag corridors, and take part in other fun stream restoration activities!

You can learn more about the project here: https://coral.org/maui/
