What we're about

This is a community for those who care and are proud of what they do. For those developers, regardless how experienced they are, who want to improve and master their craft.

This is a community for those who believe that being average is just not good enough.

Please have a look at recent conversation on future events re. location and times:

Initial frequency will change in some months... (http://www.meetup.com/MauritiusSoftwareCraftsmanshipCommunity/messages/boards/thread/34806732/i/gh_new_discussion_tl)

Code & Coffee

Vida e Caffe

Code & Coffee is a cool meeting for those who like coffee (or tea) and love writing code. The idea is simple. Just come along and you may find other developers writing some code before going to work while drinking some coffee and/or having breakfast. This is a great opportunity to: • meet other cool software craftsmen • work on pet or open source projects • pair with someone else on whatever you like (katas, koans, etc) • ask someone to join or help you with your own project • have a face-to-face meeting with your mentor or mentee • have a nice chat over coffee/breakfast There is no agenda. Come along, bring your laptop, meet other developers, write some code (if you want) and have a coffee. There is no start or finish time but you will be more likely to find someone there between 9:15 to 11:45am. Come and leave whenever you like. PS: If you want to organise a Code & Coffee in another location, please let us know. We will be happy to help and announce it to the community.

Everything data: ML.NET, ElasticSearch, SQL and more!

SD Worx (Mauritius) Limited

The meetup will be organized by the MSCC and PASS Mauritius. Agenda: - SQL Server for Mere Mortals - Seechurn Krisna, Daby Cynthia , Singh Devendra / SD Worx - Elasticsearch introduced - Hansynee Thecka Data is growing exponentially and relational databases are unable to provide us the performance that we seek in manipulating those data. We are therefore seeing a trend where the switch is being made from relational databases to NoSQL databases and Elasticsearch is one of those. In this session we will see what is Elasticsearch, how it compares to a relational database and how and in which context it can be useful to you. .NET will be used to show the implementation of Elasticsearch, and we will use it in combination with Kibana to visualize and analyze the data extracted. - ML.NET - Vidush Namah With ML.NET, you can create custom ML models using C# or F# without having to leave the .NET ecosystem. ML.NET lets you re-use all the knowledge, skills, code, and libraries you already have as a .NET developer so that you can easily integrate machine learning into your web, mobile, desktop, gaming, and IoT apps. In this session, we shall have a walk-through of building, training and implementing a predictive machine learning solution from scratch using .NET. • Important to know PASS is a global community of over 250,000 like-minded data professionals who leverage the Microsoft Data Platform. MSCC is now part of the PASS community through which we shall organize regular meet-ups geared towards data analytics. To keep updated with PASS activities and access exclusive SQL Server content, make to to register as a member on MSCC PASS local group here http://mscc.pass.org/
