About us
This group is for anyone who enjoys all outdoor recreation activities. McDowell Nature Preserve is located on the banks of Lake Wylie. McDowell offers a variety of activities for all ages and abilities. Activities range from hikes with the family to evening kayaking for the adults. To learn more about activities McDowell has to offer call McDowell Nature Center at 980-314-1128.
REGISTRATION REQUIRED for all programs through McDowell Nature Center. Since McDowell Nature Preserve is a Mecklenburg County run Nature Center and Park, registration through the calling the nature center or online at parkandrec.com is required due to county policy. All RSVPs and comments have been turned off for all events. Registering through the county website is how you RSVP and attend. Some events do require a price.

Creative Carvings: Stamp Making
The Auto Pour, 5033 South Blvd O, charlotte, NC, USCome out for a hands-on, beginner friendly workshop designed to introduce participants to the art of stamp carving! Explore essential carving techniques, discover how to work safely and effectively with carving tools, and discover the process of transforming simple drawings into custom handmade stamps! You will leave with two of your very own unique stamps. All supplies will be provided. This program will be held offsite at The Auto Pour, 5033-O South Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28217. Mindfulness in Nature
McDowell Nature Center and Preserve, 15222 South York Rd., Charlotte, NC, USTake time to connect with nature and your higher self to be the best version of you. This meditative nature experience will involve a slow hike, breathwork, and meditation in nature. Your experience will be led by a certified Mindful Outdoor Guide and include a hot drink. Preregistration is required at Mindfulness in Nature for this free program.
