***Please note that due to the ongoing pandemic and regulations put in place by the health authority impacting gatherings, we will continue to follow and enforce which ever regulations are in place at the time of a scheduled event***
We are now accepting new members to our group who are committed to attending our events and meeting new people. We expect all of our members to make an effort in coming out and meeting their fellow millenials.
About our little group:
This group is for folks who are ready to leave the work week behind and try to figure out what Calgary has to offer while meeting new people in an open atmosphere. A group comprising of a bunch of people representing all continents and all walks of life. We hope this group helps people come out of their shells, helps you meet other really nice people, encourages you to have stimulating conversations, and have fun doing it.
To have a certain predictable schedule so that people will have something to do, even if it is last minute. Will hope to have regularly scheduled Fridays and Saturdays, with special events or member's requests thrown in during the week. Our organisers specialize in dancing, pub, sports [watching], music, and cafe venues. We try to rotate locations, but are also very open to repeats as per demand.
To introduce people to people, and introduce people to what Calgary has to offer. A lot of us are transplants, but between us we have a pretty good collective knowledge of shops, cafes, games, food, drinks, music, and dancing.
Location, location, location....
Most of our events will be scheduled in the downtown area, just to keep it central. However, we will branch out if needed or requested. This is very much a member input club, so everyone is free to suggest a venue or an event. All will be considered as you never know where those hidden gems may come from.
Big vs. Small gatherings:
We will try to keep some days a month for a quieter and smaller group so that we may be able to have a conversation without having to yell from two centimetres away with twenty other people around. These groups will be a "get-to-know" without a huge crowd, because we all know how intimidating it can feel with a lot of people at once, let alone trying to remember ONE persons name. Following that would be a nice open group to let loose, dance, and have the opportunity to meet a lot of people at once.
While the title says "millennial", this is not a hard rule. Most of us fall into that category (born 1981-1996) but anyone with a good sense of humour and desire to meet people are welcome!
We all know how hard it is to make new, quality friends so this group was created to help facilitate people who wish to try to meet reliable people, and grow their social circle, or create one as the case may be.
Thank you for choosing to join us and we look forward to getting to know you!
Event organisers are here to make people feel welcome, and as such will not tolerate harassment.
