Free Online Discussion | Spiritual Stewards of the Earth

Who is responsible for taking care of the earth? We talk about the environment in many contexts – politically, economically, socially and morally – but do we also have a spiritual responsibility to the world around us?

Concern over the changing climate is growing, with more and more questions about what it means for our future. And there doesn’t seem to be a consensus on what to do about it, leaving us overwhelmed and confused. But what if the way we’re treating the planet is really a symptom of something else? Is it actually an indication of how we’re treating ourselves and each other? How might our actions change if we wanted the best for others just as much as we do for ourselves? Can a spiritual lens help us see the way forward to having healthy and growing societies and also a healthy environment?

Come join a different kind of conversation – one that welcomes every perspective in a search for the truths that unite us all – as we discuss the spiritual perspectives offered by the Bahá’í Teachings on the earth and its natural environment. Join us for a lively discussion as we explore how we can work together for the betterment of us all.

Free Online Discussion | Finding Peace in Chaotic Times

Finding a moment to truly disconnect from the pressures around us and focus our minds seems more and more out of reach in today’s society. So how can we find the quiet in the midst of the chaos surrounding us and learn to reconnect with our spiritual selves? And why do we need to?

Practices in faith traditions of prayer and meditation to the rising trend of mindfulness confirm that the sea of chaos we are immersed in only increases the desire for our souls to find peace. So what are we limiting when we don’t create the conditions to allow for that peace? What would society look like if we were able to connect spiritually with ourselves and with those around us?

Come join a different kind of conversation – one that welcomes every perspective in a search for the truths that unite us all – as we discuss the spiritual perspective offered by the Bahá’í Teachings on how we can find true, inner peace. Join us for a lively discussion as we explore how spiritually reconnecting refreshes us as individuals and allows us to better serve those around us as we work with each other to bring together a unified global community.

Free Online Discussion | Does Spiritual Truth Change With Time?

It is often said that “change is the only constant in life.” But what about when it comes to religion? Is it also possible or even essential for religion to evolve, or are spiritual truths fixed, even as the world around us and we ourselves change and develop?

That the various great spiritual traditions and religions of the world all originated from one divine source is an idea that has become increasingly accepted - or at least suspected - by many fair-minded observers. But beyond recognizing the spiritual truths these various traditions seem to share, is there also some pattern to it all?

From Abraham, to Krishna, Moses, Jesus, Mohammed and others, the history of humanity can be traced alongside the revelations of its great spiritual teachers. Looking deeper at the messages they brought, is it possible to see the commonality expressed in their ideas, their teachings, and their values? And if the world’s religions share a deeper truth, why have these various teachers been sent to us? Is it possible that not only are the world’s religious teachings not in conflict with one another, but were all meant to build one upon the other?

Come join a different kind of conversation – one that welcomes every perspective in a search for the truths that unite us all – as we discuss the spiritual perspective offered by the Bahá’í Teachings on the progressive nature of divine revelation. Join us for a lively discussion as we explore how humanity’s continued spiritual education has contributed to the next stage of its development and progress towards realizing its essential unity.

“We must recognize the sun, no matter from what dawning point it may shine forth…” – Bahá’í Teachings

Free Online Discussion | What's Your Spiritual Footprint?

Some people believe that as long as we’re not hurting anyone else, that we can do as we like. But is it enough to simply “do no harm”? Or do we need to actively seek to “do good”?

What about when it comes to our spiritual lives? Is our spirituality limited to our own personal growth and progress, or can we live in a way that our beliefs and actions make a positive impact on the world around us?
When we think about ideas like sustainability and carbon footprints, we are thinking about the impact of our lives on our material environment. But what about our spiritual environment? Are we considering the spiritual footprints we are leaving behind? What would it look like to live conscious of the lasting impact of our choices and our spirituality on not just the world around us, but on future generations as well?

Come join a different kind of conversation – one that welcomes every perspective in a search for the truths that unite us all – as we discuss the spiritual perspective offered by the Bahá’í Teachings on the lasting impact we each have on our communities. Join us for a lively discussion as we explore how we can each contribute to the spiritual growth of the world around us, now and for generations to come.
