What we're about

It's a crazy world out there full of both challenges and opportunities, and I am creating this new Meetup group with some of my friends in the hope of our expanding our circle of friends by hosting what we hope will be regular gatherings of diverse groups of people interested in meeting up for deeper and more meaningful conversations about spiritual topics. Beyond just conversations, my hope is that through gaining new insights we can all better learn how the spiritual can (and should) carry over into our daily lives, so that spirituality isn't just about us as individuals, but also about positively impacting those around us in our communities and the world. All are welcome regardless of background or belief.

Is Love Something You DO? (Free Event)

Harlem Heritage Cultural Center

We all know about love in our personal relationships, that it’s not just something you say or feel but that it’s something you show. But what happens when we think about love in a wider context? How do we embrace loving those beyond our existing circles? What about all of humanity? This can seem like a daunting task, but even coming together with people of different backgrounds and beliefs and exploring these ideas together in an open and respectful setting helps contribute to this! Come be a part of a different kind of conversation, where together we will look at the Bahá’i teachings and explore the practical steps we can incorporate into our daily lives to put the belief in the oneness of humanity into action. Together we will see how love is more than just words alone, but is rather a constant practice based on our actions, and how developing that practice daily in ourselves and in others can help create the changes we want to see in the world. "Do not be content with showing friendship in words alone, let your heart burn with loving kindness for all who may cross your path." – Bahá’i Teachings *** This event is free and open to all regardless of background or belief. Donations will not be accepted.

The Soul & The Scientific Method (Free Event)

Harlem Heritage Cultural Center

Has spirituality been given a bad rap? What are we losing when we lack a practical approach to organizing our inner lives? Rather than seeing spirituality and science as entirely separate realms, are there lessons from each that could be applied to one another? Are there scientific principles that could be applied to our spiritual explorations? Does the soul grow? Where do scientific ethics come from, and how do we agree on them? Join a different kind of conversation — one that welcomes every perspective in a search for the truths that unite us. Please join us for a lively discussion on the spiritual perspective offered by the Bahá'i teachings on finding spiritual truth in our physical surroundings. "Religion and Science are inter-twined with each other and cannot be separated. These are the two wings with which humanity must fly. One wing is not enough. " – Bahá’i Teachings *** This event is free and open to all regardless of background or belief. Donations will not be accepted.
