What we're about

This class is for people interested in meditation and Buddhism. Most classes provide a mix of meditation and explanation of how to use Buddha's teachings to improve our lives. We all have the ability to break free of limitations that are holding us back and experience the spaciousness and joy that come from a calm and positive mind. Learn how to nurture this ability that will give us the freedom and power to change our life for the better.

The New Kadampa Tradition is a western Buddhist tradition brought from Tibet by meditation master Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. It is based on Tibetan Buddhism but is presented in a way that is more accessible and applicable to western people. This class is a branch of the Kadampa Meditation Center in Seattle.

Living Meaningfully, Dying Joyfully

Everett Public Market Building Room 311

In the next few weeks we will be exploring Buddha's teachings on how to give our life the most meaning. We will explore how the meaning of our life determines the quality of our death and what follows. I will be teaching from the text "Living Meaningfully, Dying Joyfully, the profound practice of transference of consciousness", by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. You can benefit greatly from these classes without the book, however if you would like a copy you can purchase one from me in class or you can order online at www.tharpa.com. We ask for a donation of $12/$6 for seniors 62+ and students. This can be contributed by cash (preferred) or credit card.
