In our modern and busy world, stress, depression, anger and anxiety have increasingly become a common problem for many of us. We have to confront them daily, and they tend to control our states of mind; meanwhile we are wishing to experience inner peace and happiness.
Meditation and the methods from Buddha’s teachings can help us identify the origins of our problems and finally get rid of them, finding inner stability, joy and happiness in our lives.
The intention of coming together is to start and grow a group of interested people who want to get to know and practice the teachings of Kadampa Buddhism here in Salt Lake City for the first time. This has been a dear wish of mine for this area for a long time, and I think many of us could benefit and enjoy the beauty and clarity of Buddha's teachings applied to our modern world and lifestyle.
We have organized public talks from qualified teachers and meet regularly with our Sunday Meditation & Book Study group.
This group's philosophy is operating on the base of non-profit and is open to anyone.
You don't need to be a Buddhist to enjoy it. Just open your heart and join in!
