Meditation in the Yoga Tantra Tradition: Finding the Gap
Devi, the goddess Parvati asks Shiva to reveal the essence of the way to realization of the highest reality. In his answer Shiva describes 112 ways to enter into the universal and transcendental state of consciousness. Shiva replies: "Radiant One, this experience may dawn between two breaths. After breath comes in (down) and just before turning up (out) – the beneficence." from the Vigyan Bhairav Tantra This is the gap, the pause, the space between breath, thought, all activity, all moment, and we will practice finding it. In the gap, there is stillness, silence, no-mind, total presence, outrageous luminosity, deep pleasure, and nothing at all. :) Meditations will be guided in short sitting sessions, with time for questions and discussion in between. On some of the evenings we will also close with a practice of Yoga Nidra, a guided deep relaxation practice done lying on the floor in the yoga asana called Savasana, or Corpse Pose. This practice of Yoga Nidra can clear old patterns of addiction, grief, anxiety, etc. It brings the mind to states of consciousness similar to sleep, but with conscious awareness still present. Please bring a cushion to sit on if possible. Some will be provided.

Tantric meditation is always a moving towards, into and through phenomena, and never an avoidance or rejection what appears. There are numerous methods of learning to find the spacious, awake depth of our sensations, emotions, thoughts and experiences.

Come and join in the ongoing exploration of a number of these methods, including the breath, the gap, the subtle bodies including the chakra centers, basic mantra, the ego as space.
