Karma Trinlay Rinpoche Begins a Cycle of Mahamudra Teachings 2/4

Bodhi Path Miami Center

$25.00

The Four Foundations, also known as the four common preliminaries, explain a series of meditations that will lead the practitioner to recognize the often ignored yet basic truths of life: our great potential, the impermanence of life, the causality of conduct, and the dissatisfying nature of samsara. Receiving this teaching is necessary for all further instructions on the Buddhist path and particularly important and beneficial for developing motivation—thus its placement at the beginning of a cycle of teachings. Each Sunday session will cover one of the four successive topics. Delivery format: Trinlay Rinpoche will be broadcasting live from his home location in France. Student interaction with Trinlay Rinpoche will be facilitated as much as possible through available technology. About the teacher: Karma Trinlay Rinpoche is a Buddhist master and scholar. Born of French and American parentage, Rinpoche is one of the first Westerners to be recognized as a Tulku (reincarnation of a Buddhist saint) by H.H. the late 16th Karmapa. Karma Trinlay Rinpoche has received all the important transmissions of Buddhism, as well as completed both traditional Buddhist and Western academic studies in the fields of philosophy and history. Fluent in English, French, and Tibetan, Rinpoche is a charismatic speaker who teaches regularly in Buddhist centers and universities in Europe, America and Asia. Karma Trinlay Rinpoche is a genuine bridge between the East and the West, the traditional and the modern.

Newcomers and beginners are always welcome. We begin with short meditation sessions, including instructions, guidance and discussion as needed or desired. After Meditation we will read extracts of "The Handbook of Ordinary Heroes: The Bodhisattva's Way " by Lama Jigme Rinpoche. Lama Jigme Rinpoche was born into the family of H.H. the 16th Gyalwa Karmapa, as the brother of Kunzig Shamar Rinpoche. He received extensive teachings from the 16th Karmapa, who during his first visit in the West left him there as his representative. Since that time, Jigme Rinpoche has been guiding Karmapa’s seat in Europe, Dhagpo Kagyu Ling in France.
