It takes a village to get you through life when you have ADHD. Unfortunately, the very symptoms that cause us to need support often attract ridicule instead. This group is here to provide peer-to-peer support, giving us all someone to talk to who understands. Join us and discover the life-changing benefits of something no mental health professional can give you -- shared experience.
This group is private to protect it's members from the stigma and fall-out that often accompanies revealing their condition to others. Many members are employed and not comfortable revealing their diagnosis, and some who have disclosed it are now in hostile work environments as a result. Regularly attending events and the conference calls can keep you in the game. You will be asked to reveal your diagnosis only to me.
We are open to including individuals with other mental conditions such as Asperberger's, Autism, etc. -who do not currently have peer community support. Spouses, family and friends of individuals with ADD/ADHD are welcome to attend with the intention of learning to understand. Some couples take turns attending events. While we are eager to share our experience with you, it is important that we feel free to be "squirrely " and express our frustration with peers. Thank you in advance for your understanding.
No selling, intel-gathering for your business or bait/switch tactics will be tolerated, however, if you have an event or offering you would like to announce, let's discuss it before the next event. Individuals who violate our trust or exploit the group in any way will be banned from further participation.
