Docker Meetup All Star Talk - Patterns & Antipatterns in Docker Image Lifecycle

Details

Sorry for the late notice! But I thought you would all appreciate another All Star Talk to round out the year from a well renowned international speaker!

I have been lucky enough to arrange Yoav Landman, the CTO of JFrog (https://www.jfrog.com/), to take sometime out from YOW (http://yowconference.com.au/) to talk to us about how new tools often introduce new paradigms. Yoav will examine the patterns and the anti-patterns for Docker image management, and what impact the new tools have on the battle-proven paradigms of the software development lifecycle.

Yoav is the CTO and co-founder of JFrog, the Universal Artifact Repository & Distribution Platform. Yoav laid the foundation to JFrog's first product in 2006 when he founded Artifactory (https://www.jfrog.com/Artifactory) as an open source project.

In 2008 he co-founded JFrog to change the way people are managing, distributing and updating software artifacts.

Prior to creating JFrog, Yoav was an architect and consultant in the field of CI management and distributed applications. Yoav is also a JavaOne Rock Star speaker.

You can find him at: https://twitter.com/yoav & https://www.linkedin.com/in/yoavlandman .

Topic: Patterns & Anti-Patterns in the Docker Image Lifecycle

While Docker has enabled an unprecedented velocity of software production, it is all too easy to spin out of control. A promotion-based model is required to control and track the flow of Docker images as much as it is required for a traditional software development lifecycle. New tools often introduce new paradigms. We will examine the patterns and the anti-patterns for Docker image management, and what impact the new tools have on the battle-proven paradigms of the software development lifecycle.

This talk takes it from the point that everybody already understand the need in the CI/CD pipeline and some of the basic techniques are taken for granted. It’s much more about tools, processes and automation.

NOTE: Numbers are strictly limited. Please ensure that you RSVP to guarantee your attendance.

Big shout out to to Versent (Level 3) (http://www.level3.space) for hosting this event at such short notice!

Cheers,
