*NOTE*: This is an online meetup over google meet as we want our community members to keep learning during this unusual period.

We have our friend Sven Ruppert from Germany presenting to MelbJVM again albeit Online :)

Do you have a private project, an open-source tool, or do you want to conduct a POC? The idea is there, and you want to get started right away? On the other hand, do you want a suitable environment to receive the best possible support for development? JFrog offers you precisely the right tools for this. You can access the JFrog platform and use it freely and without time restrictions. Artifactory, Xray, Pipelines and more. This platform gives you a complete DevSecOps environment, whether private or commercial, at your disposal.

In the first part, we set up a Maven-based project consisting of one module so that you can start with Java and Kotlin. We will set up repositories and do the first security scans. This part is rounded off by the use of pipelines to provide the project with a simple CI pipeline. So, end-to-end session will cover everything from the idea of setting up a software-project, writing the first lines of code and testing to a release.

Sven Ruppert: Sven is working as Developer Advocate for Jfrog and coding Java since 1996 in industrial projects. He was working over 15 years as a consultant worldwide in industries like Automotive, Space, Insurance, Banking, UN and WorldBank. He is regularly speaking at Conferences and Meetups worldwide and contributes to IT periodicals, as well as tech portals. Additional to his main topic DevSecOps he is working on Mutation Testing of Web apps and Distributed UnitTesting besides his evergreen topics Core Java and Kotlin.
