April Meet-up - Fun with Azure and Jenkins

Ken Thompson, Azure Technical Specialist from Microsoft will shower us with knowledge on all cool things we can do with Azure and Jenkins.

We'll be deep-diving on how to us Blue Ocean 1.0 to deploy a full CI/CD pipeline, integrating with Netflix Spinnaker and deploying Docker workloads to Kubernetes on Azure container service.

Microsoft is developing loads of great solutions with Jenkins to help you accelerate your development and scale your operations. We'll have a look across the board at the solutions to not only rapidly deploy Jenkins, but also Jenkins plugins for Azure such as VM Agents, Container Agents and using Storage as an artefact repository.

We'll be developing applications using Microsoft VS Code (OSS!) looking at its native Git integrations, then pushing into full CI/CD Pipelines on Jenkins 2.0 (using Blue Ocean 1.0 of course!), leveraging Netflix Spinnaker to automate deployment to Azure Container Service (Kubernetes). We'll also look at how you can leverage monitoring and operations tools post-deployment to ensure happy customers and guide future development cycles!.
