Designing the future street

Details

What will Melbourne streets look like in the future?

Take part in an interactive workshop to explore how emerging trends might impact the city, and build shared visions for the future of Melbourne’s streets. This process of designing speculative futures for Melbourne’s streets will help you understand how to shape where you live today.

This event is a part of City of Melbourne's Melbourne Conversation series. For full details and ticketing, visit: https://www.melbourne.vic.gov.au/arts-and-culture/events-partnerships/melbourne-conversations/Pages/design-22nd-century-street.aspx

City of Melbourne libraries will host a free future design & cities pop-up library throughout the first half of this workshop.

Presented by Melbourne Speculative Futures—Ollie Cotsaftis and Sarah McArthur.

Melbourne Speculative Futures is the local chapter of The Design Futures Initiative. Originally founded in San Francisco, this is an initiative for those interested in speculative design, critical design, design fiction, futurism and visionary approaches that use design and visual culture to imagine potential futures. The team host events that further discussion and showcase creative projects, far out research and tangible strategies for affecting change.

Melbourne Speculative Futures was founded by Ollie Cotsaftis and Sarah McArthur. Ollie is a RMIT School of Design Industry Fellow and Lecturer and the Creative Director of future ensemble. Sarah is Designer in Residence at CityLab, City of Melbourne and runs her own Design&Futures practice.
