Melbourne C++ Meetup

This month, we'll be meeting at the Kathleen Syme Centre, where we'll have a brief demo of a simple "Hello World" GUI application using Qt, both preceded and followed by some great conversation with like-minded people who are also interested in C++.

This first presentation will be given by me... someone has to go first, so please go easy on me :)

I hope to be able to get other people to present for the next few meetups, so do let me know if you're at all interested in presenting - it doesn't have to be well polished, just something you're interested in / passionate about / playing with.

I look forward to seeing you all there :)

    Thank you all for all for another great meetup :) As mentioned, for those that attended, there's an optional feedback survey available at https://goo.gl/b4t73c Thanks! :D

    Note, the board downstairs says we're in Multipurpose Room 1, but be assured, we're actually in Multipurpose Room 2 :)

    The main library shuts at 7pm. Not a major concern, but do we need to make any special arrangements for (very) latecomers?

      Good point. Yep, if someone arrives later than 7pm, the front door will be locked, and we'll need to let them in from the inside... so if someone arrives late, then they can post a message here, and I'll send someone down to let them in :)

    Glad you could find a location, Paul.

    The address says "Melbourne", but in fact it's in Carlton (the 'map' link finds the correct place anyway). See you there!

      Thanks Gerald! The address was auto-completed by Meetup.com (probably because some other meetup group entered it incorrectly in the past). Fixed :)

    Paul, I have one topic about how to debug C/C++ SEGV issues (linux_x86) from assembly level. But I'd like to wait for other's input because I believe there are many topics that are more interesting than this one. :)

    Calling for presenters... :)

    Got something you'd like to demonstrate? Want to give a brief talk about something related to C++? You don't have to be an expert, just let you're passions / interests shine through :)

    Let me know if you're interested, whether for this (December 13) event, or some time in the future :)

    Thanks.

    I'm very pleased by report that we've secured Multipurpose Room 2 at the Kathleen Syme Centre for this event :D
