Software Patterns & Anti-Patterns with C++

Details

Following our excellent talks on Software Design Patterns for C++,
this month we'll have a look at anti-patterns. If you're unsure what anti-patterns are, have a read of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-pattern then do some Googling - chances are you're already seen one (or even used one ;)

As usual, comment below, or in a Slack group, to let us know which anti-patterns you want to talk about. It doesn't have to be any fancy presentation - though a snippet of sample code would be great.

So far we have, in no particular order:

  • Command Pattern - Ang
  • Mystery "Favourite" Pattern - Tristan
  • Dependency Injection - KYK
  • ...

Doors open: 5:45pm for a 6pm start.

Note: after 6pm, you will need to add comment below, or in Slack (https://melbournecpp.slack.com/) (use this form (https://goo.gl/forms/GwK1pIzzXHFnAa8b2) to join) to get through the automatic glass door (shown in red below) on Level 24. After 6:30pm the elevators won't allow you up to Level 24 anymore.
