Thank you for reaching out to the Men of Desert Hot Springs & Coachella Valley. Unfortunately, I've had to take a major step back from my volunteer work here in DHS per my team of doctors. Therefore, I am seeking someone to take over the Men of DHS&CV. I no longer plan activities, however, should someone offer to host an event, I do notify the hundreds of guys who have requested such information.
Are you in DHS? I see you are interested in walking/hiking. Currently, there is no men's walking group in DHS. I do think it would be a tremendous activity. All it takes to get started is to choose a meeting location, date, and time and I can get the word out. I presume there'll be a number of guys eager to join. If you'd like to chat about this over a virtual cup of coffee one morning, I'm happy to do so with you to help get it started. Or we can simply call for a zoom planning meeting to begin a walking group and see who shows up with ideas. Let me know.
It has been estimated DHS has up to 3,000 LGBTQ folks residing here, though there is no specific evidence of it. To begin a walking group, only a few guys with a similar mindset are needed. You've already taken the first step by reaching out to me.

We provide opportunities for Gay Men to establish local friendships throughout Coachella Valley and beyond. In lieu of annual membership fees, we encourage our members to attend potlucks, pool parties, hikes, cultural tours, day trips, etc. and host at least one event annually in one's home or anywhere.
