Waking up our consciousness
When you get what you want in your struggle for self, And the world makes you king for a day, Just go to a mirror and look at yourself, And see what that man has to say. For it isn’t your father or mother or wife, Whose judgement upon you must pass; The fellow whose verdict counts most in your life, Is the one starring back from the glass. He’s the fellow to please, never mind all the rest, For he’s with you clear up to the end, And you’ve passed life’s most dangerous difficult test, If the man in the glass is your friend. You may be like Jack Horner and “chisel” a plum, And think you’re a wonderful guy, But the man in the glass says you’re only a bum, If you can’t look him straight in the eye. You may fool the whole world down the pathway of years, And get pats on the back as you pass, But your final reward will be heartaches and tears, If you’ve cheated the man in the glass. -----Dale Wimbrow 1934 To gain an idea of what the Mankind Project is about, please watch the following video and others listed at the bottom of this page. ____________________________________________________________________________________ The following provides the intention of this group: Imagine a circle where everyone listens, not only to what you say, but also to what's behind or underneath that. Everyone is in tune with your voice, your emotion, your energy — everyone is intent on receiving everything you communicate. This is where everyone listens to hear the very best in you, even when you can't hear it in yourself. Imagine a circle of men who are truly curious about your dreams and aspirations, about what it is that makes you tick, what you value, what you are most passionate about in life — a circle of men who will help clarify your goals and provide tools for action and learning that lead you towards the life you want. Imagine a circle of men who will absolutely tell you the whole truth about where you are strong and where you sell yourself short — a circle that knows you can handle the challenges of life and knows that's what you want. Imagine an experience where you finally break free of those limiting beliefs that sabotage you and where those shadows are noticed for what they are. A circle where this powerful part of you is called forth and developed into a new set of empowering beliefs about yourself. What we're about

We are made up of a group of the 60,000+ men who have been through various levels of training with the ManKind Project, or men who are new to the group investigating what the ManKind Project has to offer. Our format provides opportunity for personal growth, acceptance of self and others, and increased conscious awareness.

We typically gather the first and third Sundays at 4:00 pm for 2 1/2 hours. The meetings are not chat sessions, but rather they follow a systematic format of varied exercises geared to center oneself in awareness of present feelings and assorted processes to explore those feelings if requested. Varied exercises provide: connection between group attendees, opportunity to challenge ourselves and others, be supportive, evaluation of hindering roadblocks to progress, and provide tools to assist in one's desired goal(s).

As an attendee you can expect assorted things, from: men who will speak honestly about how they are feeling at the present moment, and from moment to moment, a structured meeting format, time spent explaining to newcomers on how the group is run, what we expect from each person in the group in terms of confidentiality and how we communicate within the group structure, the opportunity for you to participate as much as you want or don't want, some use of Jungian archetypes to assist in understanding ourselves, structured processes used to help us get in contact with ourselves and issues that might be creating discord within ourself.

The whole evening is truly a memorable experience, particularly if one has not been exposed to men talking honestly. Some of us are religious, some of us are spiritual, some are atheists, basically any man is welcome to attend. I think we all believe that our methodologies create a safe (some say "sacred") space. I believe we also recognize and acknowledge the pain associated with living and have compassion for others and share a common commitment to be of value to others, ourselves, and community by doing the stuff (work) we do in this group. Please let us know if you have additional questions. At our meetings we start to gather around 3:45 PM, newcomers are welcome to come at 3:30 pm to ask questions about the group.
