The Mercari Automation & Quality Assurance (AQA) Team aims to achieve a balance between speed and quality through software testing and the automation thereof.
At this AQA POP TALK, we will report on the topics presented at STARWEST 2018 as we discuss the topic “The Future of Test Automation.”
Note: this event will be held in English. Some interpretation assistance may be provided during the Question and Answer session.
This event is primarily aimed at QA engineers, test engineers, and testers, but is also recommended for the following people:
- People interested in the roles and responsibilities of QA engineers in agile development
- People engaged in or who want to engage in test automation
- People who want to exchange information on quality and testing in software development

Session 1: AI Applications in Automation Testing (from STARWEST)
Contents: AI is coming to automation testing! Learn about what AI techniques we can apply today, and what AI techniques will come in the future.
Speaker: Rhomel is currently a Mercari Automation Engineer from California with engineering experience in the Internet of Things, Android automation, and big data. He has presented on Espresso and Appium automation testing last year.

Contents: "DevOps" is the latest buzzword in the tech industry but what does it really mean? Learn more about the DevOps movement, why so many companies are now favoring it over Agile, and how it will affect the roles of both developers and QA in the near future.
Speaker: Gloria is an Automation Engineer from Vancouver, Canada. She has worked on both development and testing sides of the software development process before finally settling into Automation. She enjoys collecting certifications and recently passed the examination for ISTQB Advanced Level Test Automation Engineer.
