What we're about

The primary purpose of this group is to get your book written.

Writing a novel tends to be a long and arduous... But it doesn't have to be. This group will focus on turning your writing time into a social gathering. Each meeting will start with a 20-minute intro so that we can answer general questions related to writing, publishing, marketing, etc, and also to introduce new members to the group.
After those 20 minutes, we will promptly begin our quiet writing time.

[Virtual] Pen Upright, Butt in Chair

We will chat writing theory and ask each about our weeks, but at 7:15 sharp, we dig into the work ahead of us- writing that novel and living that dream. Finishing a novel takes patience, social support, AND a proper approach. Those of us at the group have our tips and tricks for finishing that elusive first draft so you can move on to the meat of novel-writing-- editing. Bring earbuds or something comparable so you can listen to your music/whale noises if that helps you work. We recommend non-lyrical music, since we tend to subvocalize lyrics, which throws off our prose. We are fond of 'word sprints' and will usually ask if the group wants to participate in a 20-minute sprint at the beginning of a writing session.
