*1. Talk * " Real-Time Transportation Information Visualization for Migros"
by Dr. Samuel Benz and Stefan Waldner from SPOUD

In this talk, we would like to show how we achieved streaming real-time data about delivery trucks to the logistic persons working at all the Migros shop facilities. In short, it is a story about how to get the right data at the right time. Engineering everything in an event-driven architecture and visualize the result in an end-user-friendly way. PS. It is not (only) about Kafka.

Bio:
Samuel Benz is the CTO of SPOUD. A Switzerland-based start-up in the domain of event streaming. He did his doctorate in distributed algorithms, which are mainly used for database replication. But, he strongly believes in the importance of creating a balance between theoretical consulting and hands-on coding. Therefore, besides supporting our customers in data-driven decision-making, he is participating in real-time data analytics projects.

Stefan Waldner works as Full Stack Developer at SPOUD, supporting various clients and projects, amongst other Migros. Not only, he’s a master of Web Technologies especially in JavaScript and Frontend Frameworks but he’s also multiple times Swiss- and international Kickboxing Champ, and owner of his own Kickboxing School in Bern. Through his competition-oriented mindset, he’s able to bring pragmatic solutions to all his projects.

*2. Talk * "Data Streams & Apache Kafka at SBB"

Seit 2019 kümmert sich das IoT-ServiceTeam bei der SBB um die Unterstützung und Beratung von IoT Vorhaben, die Evaluation von IoT Devices, deren Bereitstellung, Konfiguration und Prozesse für Lifecycle, und eben Integration von Daten.
In diesem Talk stelle ich die Datenflüsse durch unser System vor und diskutiere wo und warum wir auf Streaming mit Kafka setzen.

Bio:
Stefan Zeller ist Full Stack Developer und kümmert sich um Frontends, Backends, Architektur aber auch Testing und Business Analyse und was sonst noch alles getan werden muss. Seit 2013 arbeitet er bei der SBB und seit eineinhalb Jahren im IoT-ServiceTeam.
