*1. Talk * " Modelling for Apache Druid with Apache Kafka"
by Peter Marshall from Imply

Analytics based on streaming data is here. Forget the nightly batches and Monday reports. In this talk, we will lay out a temperature-based way of categorizing different analytics technologies and we will present to you why Apache Druid can deliver data visibility and instant queries on real-time data using Apache Kafka.

Bio:
Peter Marshall leads outreach and engineering across Europe for Imply, a company founded by the original developers of Druid. He has 20 years architecture experience in CRM, EDRM, ERP, EIP, Digital Services, Security, BI, Analytics, and MDM. He is TOGAF certified and has a BA (hons) degree in Theology and Computer Studies from the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom.

*2. Talk * "Building real-time knowledge graph at Swisscom"
by Michal Stutzmann from Swisscom

Networks underlying commercial services of modern telco operators are becoming more and more complex. In case of degraded network availability, it’s challenging to identify a problem-causing area and its impact on customers. A knowledge graph can organize dependencies and health information of various networks efficiently, and thus help engineers to resolve problems quicker.
This talk presents the challenges and experiences of using Kafka, Kafka Streams, ksqlDB, and Neo4j to process and ingest data from disparate sources into a knowledge graph.

Bio:
Michal Stutzmann is a software engineer in the Infrastructure Analytics department at Swisscom. His previous experience includes architecting and building applications in the area of service provisioning and real-time analytics of mobile telco events.
