Meteor Atlanta - August Meetup

We're kicking off August with some interesting topics.

Discussing Meteor Roadmap - esp. new Packaging System in v0.9

Presentation on - "Algos, a database of language-specific algorithm implementations, of the user, by the user, and for the user."

Algos was conceived out of the frustration of an incorrect JavaScript implementation of the Ramer-Douglas-Peucker algorithm. Algos seeks to serve as the de facto reference for algorithm knowledge, including a collection of language-specific code for each algorithm. Algos is almost entirely user-centric, employing democratic submission, approval, denial, removal, and user-recognition processes.

Edward is an intern at CyCore Systems and a student at Georgia State University where he seeks a bachelor's degree in both CS and Philosophy. His interests lie anywhere from Existentialism and Analytic Philosophy to software development and cryptography.

Open Demo - Invite audience members to share their meteor development.

Open Topic - Delve into Javascript Context with respect to Meteor, and how popular patterns such as Module, Revealing Module would work.

Community Project - Discuss extending Meteor Parties example for some Atlanta based fun.

Hello everyone, this will be my first Meetup! Is there anything I need to bring to the meeting besides maybe a laptop? I don't know why I didn't think of asking about this earlier. Really looking forward to this meetup :)

The front door isn't marked super great with a VersionOne logo, so here is a link to a picture of it.

We do have something hanging on it with the VersionOne logo, but it's kinda hard to see until your standing in front of the door. It's right off of Glen Iris.

The door will be locked, but I'll be keeping an eye out for people showing up. If I'm not there holding the door open as you arrive, just give it a knock and one of us will be around to let you in.

    Parking at the location:

Visitor parking in the Ponce Springs Lofts parking deck can be limited. We will most likely be OK, and chances are there will be a spot in the deck to park, this is just a heads up. The deck is behind the building, left of the gated entrance for the condo community. You'll see it as you pull into the parking lot. The first two floors have visitor spaces, be sure to park in one marked Visitor either on the wall or ground. Parking Alternatives:

Try the Parking Deck mentioned above first. There are other side streets off of Glen Iris and North Avenue that you can try also if the deck is full.

    Parking Warnings:

Please do not park in the numbered spots adjacent to our building, the ones with warning signs on them. People who park here get towed :(

I don't advise you to park in Dancing Goats lot, as it is private. The security for Ponce Springs Market is very strict about this, and we do not have official approval for visitors to park there.
