Professional Meteor training sessions coming up

Hi everyone -

I wanted to let you know about a great Meteor learning opportunity coming up next month at HTML5DevConf. Chris Mather of EventedMind and Michael Nagle of Lanyard Studios are each teaching full-day Meteor training bootcamps on Oct 22 and Oct 23, respectively:

  • Taking Meteor into Production, with Chris Mather (Oct 22) - If you have experience working with Meteor, Chris will take your skills to the next level and prepare you to build meaningful products and businesses on Meteor. Chris is a highly sought-after Meteor expert and the author behind EventedMind, the premier learning resource on intermediate and advanced Meteor topics.
  • Getting Started with Meteor, with Michael Nagle (Oct 23) - If you are relatively new to web development or full-stack development, Michael's beginner class will give you an overview of Meteor and walk you through a sample project highlighting its various capabilities. The only prerequisite is that you have worked with foundational concepts such as variables, arrays, and functions in JavaScript or another programming language.

Each session runs from 9am to 4pm and is capped at 30 people to insure a hands-on experience. A full day of training is only $165 at HTML5DevConf, so they are expected to sell out. To sign up, go to the conference registration page, order the ticket for "Training only," then select the session you're interested in.

PS - For those of you coming to Devshop this Thursday, today is the last day to sign up for lightning talks! Anyone is welcome and encouraged to share their Meteor project with the community.

PPS - Just as we did last September, we are offering free flu shots upstairs during Devshop coworking!
