Back in 1999 the Utne Reader (the "Reader's Digest of the Left") promoted the notion that it's readers should form "Salons," or discussion groups. Ours formed in the Watertown area, and 25 years later, it's still going strong. We discuss topics that are both personal and political: anything form how we age, the MeToo movement, strategies that increase happiness, the "soul" of our country, the concept of gender fluidity, how do we make friend, what are we afraid of, white privilege, the sharing economy, and so many more.
We are looking for people who want to join a mature group for discussion and friendship. We meet the first Monday of every month, a schedule that has worked well for us for 25 years, and which we would like to keep. All viewpoints and walks of life welcome. Meetings are held at members' homes.
