Mandala Magic with Zef & Pam E

Metrowest Yoga & Training Center- Worcester/Millbury

This magical workshop uses vinyasa yoga and the creation of a Mandala using natural materials to heal and set intention for the coming season. The Mandala is a symmetrical design that is found in nature, architecture, traditions and other forms of art. Making a Mandala by using the abundance of natural materials supplied by Mother Nature reminds us of the infinite beauty that surrounds us in every moment and the inherent beauty of our everyday. Together, we will create and use the Mandala as a form of meditation, self-expression, and personal journey. Come see what unfolds within the symmetry of our circle. No prior art experience is necessary just an open mind! Sunday, March 24, 2019 2:00pm - 4:00pm Worcester/Millbury Cost: $25 (Early Bird) $30 (Day of Event)

Yoga for a Healthy Spine: Back Care Clinic w/Pam Gaither

Metrowest Yoga & Training Center-Westboro

Back pain impacts most of us at some point. It can be caused by injury, poor posture, repetitive motion, or aging. Getting older is inevitable, pain is not. Experts agree that routine strengthening and stretching can both prevent and relieve symptoms. When your spine and pelvis are in alignment and your actions are balanced, you gain resilience and stability. In this hands-on workshop, we will explore the therapeutic power of yoga to support the body’s natural healing and restorative process. You will learn common causes of back pain, postures that reduce strain and stabilize the spine, and techniques for back pain prevention, relief, and support. Ultimately the management and health of your spine is your responsibility. Be informed. Become your own best caretaker. Current instructors, aspiring teachers, and students of all levels are welcome in this workshop. CEU's are available for yoga teachers. Please wear appropriate yoga clothing. Bring your yoga mat. **Class size is limited. Sign up early to secure your spot. Yoga And The Power of Intention (Full Weekend) w/ Desiree Rumbaugh

Metrowest Yoga & Training Center- Worcester/Millbury

Those of us who are using Yoga as a tool to make our lives better are always interested in ways we can heal and improve our bodies and minds. We accept reality, and, we believe in possibility. Please join us in welcoming back Desiree Rumbaugh to Metrowest Yoga. With over thirty years of experience, she continues to evolve and explore the transformative power of Yoga in mind and body. She works regularly with Physical Therapists and resistance training to make sure that what she is offering her students is safe, healing and appropriate. Now age 60 and a grandmother of two, she has co-authored the book “Fearless After Fifty: How To Thrive with Grace, Grit and Yoga”. Every time she faces a challenge physically or mentally, she raises the bar by working with determination to learn the lessons and pass along the knowledge to others. Every class during this weekend will give you many ideas that you can apply immediately to make your practice more effective. Rather than focusing on the performance of poses, we spend our time on the mat looking at how the actions of each pose are meant to accomplish and how they are feeling. As you observe every moment, you will be guided to change what you are thinking or doing in a way that leads to an improved outcome. All levels are welcome and encouraged to participate. You will: *learn about your unique body; how to adapt poses to fit your specific needs and how to strengthen your weak parts and loosen your tight areas *experience a life affirming attitude towards your practice that you can carry with you going forward *be inspired and guided to remember a few key exercises that you can do regularly on your own *leave the workshop with a refreshed and renewed sense of energy in your body and mind Every class will include a variety of poses that are useful in healing that specific area of the body. The information in this workshop is cumulative, so for best results, try to attend more than one class.
