Estag'firullah Zikr
Estag'firullah Zikr is a transformative circle prayer practice of Remembrance, and an activation of the divine healing attribute of Forgiveness through devotional music and movement. All are welcome. If this is your first time, please wear comfortable, modest clothing and thick socks for ease of floor movement. If you are unable to stand in the circle or engage in the physical movements, know you can still fully participate by simply sitting in a chair or bench. Feel free to invite friends whom may be interested. It is a wonderful opportunity for those new to whirling, or for those with questions about the practice. Everyone is welcome! (For those who would like to learn the Mevlevi turn, please know that the first full turn class commences next Monday, February 11th at 7:30pm.) The Estag'firullah Zikr is intended to be a spiritually healing prayer experience. Please open your heart- the need is great. We sing, move, be together in prayer to help each other polish our hearts, clarify our minds, and remember the ways we are intimately connected to God. Here we have a way to open our hearts and hands to the source of healing, and to all in need simultaneously. This is the essence of the Whirling, and one certainly need not get dizzy to participate. The Mevlevi Order of America (MOA) is a not-for-profit 501 (c) 3 organization, dedicated to sharing the Teachings of Mevlana Jelaluddin Rumi with all as guided by Postneshin Jelaleddin Loras, son and spiritual successor of Suleyman Hayatidede.
