The Miami History Meetup is for anyone who is enthusiastic about the history of the Miami Metropolitan area. This group will meet to learn, share and discuss local history in Miami-Dade County.
Meetings will take place in historic buildings and / or locations to tackle a variety of topics about local history and historic preservation. Each meeting will consist of a formal presentation on a topic relevant to Miami and Miami-Dade's history, as well as, time to socialize and mingle with other history enthusiasts.
The next meetup for the Miami History group will be co-sponsored by Dade Heritage Trust and once again take place at their headquarter's office at 190 SE 12th Terrace in Miami. The topic for this meeting will focus on the family for which the Brickell neighborhood is named.
There will be a lecture and presentation of old photos of the family and their contributions to the area that was once referred to as Southside. The Dade Heritage Trust headquarters is located in the heart of the Brickell neighborhood and serves as an appropriate place to share the family's story.
Seating is limited to 20 people given the size of the venue. The ticket price to attend the event is only $10, but given the limited seating at the venue, it is recommended that you purchase your tickets soon. This event will sell out quickly!
