What we're about

Regular online and in-person get-togethers for podcasters.

We're a community of podcasters who help each other make brilliant podcasts. Our gang includes experienced indie podcasters, professional audio producers and those just starting out.

Each Podcast Club meetup is like a real-life podcaster FAQ asked and answered by the awesome MIC podcaster community.

Our events are mostly online, but we're bringing back our in-person meetups here and there in 2022.

We also have a special podcaster guest most months to give their expert take on a chosen podcasty subject. To date, we've had talks from chart-topping and award-winning podcasters about shortform podcasting, rating and reviews and remote recording.

Our guests have included podcasting legend Olly Mann, Brown Girls Do It Too podcast, Obsessed with Line of Duty podcast producers, BBC Sounds Commissioner Louise Kattenhorn, Dan Maudsley (BBC: Paradise), The VO Social podcast, Clare Freeman (ASFB Productions: Slimming World Podcast...), Kate Cocker (The Presenter Coach: Everyday Positivity), Alex Bennett (Lower Street Media, Art of Podcast), Guy Kilty (DipDap productions, BBC 5Live: The Price of Football), Sam Walker (BBC, Desert Diaries, Northern Power Women), Emma Goswell (Gaydio, Coming Out Stories), Mark Asquith (Captivate, Rebel Base Media), Amy Woods (Content x10), Ant McGinley (XS Manchester, On The Left Side).

If you've been to MIC's Podcast Club and enjoyed, benefited or simply love the cut of our jib, please consider buying us a brew https://www.buymeacoffee.com/micspodcastclub - the money contributes towards the running of the Club, including the costs of meetup, marketing and caffeine for Vic & Charles.

MIC Niceness
“MIC's Podcast Club was a real inspiration for me and gave me the confidence to pursue my own podcast. Seeing others so passionate and enthusiastic about their subjects, made me want to raise my game. It also reminded me of how accessible and friendly the Podcast community can be.” Paul Fores – ‘Remember The First Time?‘ podcast

"We launched our podcast today, it’s a bit rough, it’s been a journey but I want to say thanks! MIC's Podcast Club has been invaluable." Rachel Goulding, Show Stream

We're also looking for sponsors to help support our events and do get in touch if you'd like to host a MIC where you live (when we can!)

How to ask your podcaster listener for money - online QnA

Link visible for attendees

*RE-ARRANGED FROM ORIGINAL JUNE DATE* How do I make money from my podcast?' we bet you've asked yourself this once or twice! Even if it's simply to cover the costs of your hosting?

So how about turning to your listener for support?

At July's MIC's Podcast Club we talk about asking your listener for money with a panel of podcasters from our community who are doing just that - including Emma from the 'Real-Life Ghost Stories' podcast (bio at the bottom) who have almost 1,650 supporters on patreon and Ian from Cold War Conversations who's using patreon and other platforms to help generate an income for his pod.

We'll chat ways of doing it like Patreon, best practice tips, pitfalls to watch out for, does this actually work, and how to be realistic in your approach.

Part 2 of the meetup is our traditional podcaster QnA where we ask and answer any queries about podcasting.

See you there!

Podcast Club - The Social (in-person meetup for podcasters)

Needs a location

You're invited to MIC's 'social' - a chance to have a drink and chat with your fellow podcasters and audio geeks.

So, unlike our monthly online events (they'll still happen!), there's

No agenda
No talks
No QnA's

Simply a get-together for the MIC's Podcast Club community of podcasters!

The venue is TBC, but will be Manchester.

If you've not joined MIC, simply sign up on the homepage of our meet-up page here www.meetup.com/micpod

All you need to bring is yourself and some money for drinks / food.
