Abstract
Microservices architecture elevates the challenges for Authentication and Authorization management. When a single frontend request can result in many backend microservices calls, it is important to balance security and performance. A blueprint that provides a flexible solution for making these choices in a microservices environment is discussed, and involves standards such as OAuth2, OpenID Connect and JWT tokens.

Victor is a Co-Founder of ForgeRock, and an Information Technology veteran with more than 28 years of experience in areas of Software Development, Security, Networking, Identity Management, Identity Relationship Management and Identity of Things. In his current role, as a VP of Customer Innovation at the Office of the CTO he oversees the promotion of innovative solutions based on the ForgeRock Identity Platform.
He has worked with several Fortune 100 companies around the globe, such as IBM, 3Com and Sun Microsystems always providing practical solutions to complex problems. During the last 16 years, he has focused in Identity and Access Management and believes that identity is at the center of everything, and there is a digital identity for everyone and everything. Victor has lived in different countries, such as Mexico, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Finland and Spain.
