Introduction to Azure Databricks

As one of the newer and most exciting analytics platforms available on Azure, Databricks provides an easy to deploy Apache Spark-based analytics platform that can be deployed to support advanced analytics, modern data warehousing and real time streaming on a simple, pay-as-you-go basis.

Optimised for Azure and closely integrated with Azure's many analytics services, Databricks allows notebook-based collaboration between data scientists, data engineers and business analysts with some neat productivity features such as integration with Power BI.

During this session, we will provide an introduction to Databricks, look at it's positioning within Azure and the broader industry landscape and demonstrate how it can be used to easily deploy code-based advanced analytics solutions.
