Torsten Strauss: Columnstore index in Auzre SQL

In this session, you will learn about the benefits of using columnstore indexes for big data analytics in Azure SQL. We will look at how SQL Server efficiently compresses large amounts of data, creating the basis for extreme memory and storage savings and super-fast queries through segment elimination. We will understand the lifecycle of row groups and the maintenance required to ensure that query performance scales as data volumes grow. In addition, we will use some dynamic management views to assess the health of the columnstore indices.
