How did you discover Mid-Atlantic Hiking Group?

I searched for a hiking group in the DC area.

What are you looking to experience with MAHG? (examples: walks, transition from walking to hiking, easy/moderate/strenuous/very strenuous hiking, trail stewardship, classes) Please state all that applies to help us plan activities to meet your needs.

I love walking and being in the woods but I don't have many friends that share my enthusiasm for the great outdoors. Although the solitude is nice on occasion, it's not terribly safe to head out on my own! So I'm looking to make some like-minded friends who feel at home in the woods as well. I'm open to any type of outing and am pretty active so . I'd love to go on a night hike. I've done trail maintenance work but would love to give it a try. I don't have camping equipment anymore so I'm partial to day trips that won't require me to purchase a lot of new gear.

I'm always in heels but don't let that fool you. I still climb trees and with Rock Creek Park literally across the street from my doorstep, I play in the woods almost daily--barefoot.

What Lu is saying about this Meetup Group

I'm addicted! I never regret an outting even when it means getting up at 5am to make the drive to the trailhead--and I'm not a morning person! I smile a lot, laugh a lot, learn a lot (and sweat a lot). Always a great conversation with a fun and diverse group of people, gorgeous scenery and wonderful hike leaders.
