How did you discover Mid-Atlantic Hiking Group?

I was looking for another group (Christmas in April, a volunteer work group) on the web. I've hiked with the Mountain Club of Maryland and the Howard County Sierra Club for many years. This group has a culture a bit different from the others and I enjoy the differences.

What are you looking to experience with MAHG? (examples: walks, transition from walking to hiking, easy/moderate/strenuous/very strenuous hiking, trail stewardship, classes) Please state all that applies to help us plan activities to meet your needs.

I am already a moderate hiker. I'm looking for more opportunities for group hikes in the local area. I know my limits - 10 or so miles with 2000' of climb. Not gonna do Jeremy's Run again. Not bad for an old guy but I'm not a puppy anymore either.

Are you aware that Mid-Atlantic Hiking Group is a non profit charitable organization and not a club? Our main website is midatlantichikinggroup.org for information regarding the mission we serve, our initiatives and their programs.

Introduction

I find crowds and noise tiring so I head for the woods to rejuvenate. Hikers (and librarians - they're happiest when helping others) are my favorite groups of people - physically and mentally active, friendly, thoughtful, interesting, kind and more.

What Keith K is saying about this Meetup Group

Very pleasant group of enthusiastic hikers with capable enthusiastic leaders!
