Formed in 1957, this year marks the 58th anniversary of the Mid-Atlantic Pilots Association, a non-profit flying organization dedicated to air safety, aviation education and flying camaraderie.
All levels of pilots, student pilots and aviation enthusiasts are invited to join. Meetings are held on the second Thursday of every month at Lincoln Park Aviation. Meetings are free to dues paying members and their guests. Dinner is no longer a part of the MAPA program. Attendees are welcome and encouraged to gather at the Sunset Grill for Dinner and to socialize prior to or after the meeting. Meetings start at 7PM.
Membership is $35 a year and paid members are granted full voting privileges. As networking is an important facet of the organization, we welcome the participation of all aviators to our fly-outs and to meaningful collaboration on events and issues of interest.
The next meeting of MAPA will take place via Zoom on July 15, 2020 at 7:00 PM.
Please join for another exciting presentation by Iggy Peralta. Iggy now flies 737s for American. He spoke at several MAPA meetings in the past from his experience, both as an airline captain and a CFII.
Iggy has been flying a growing number of routes for American Airlines during the pandemic. He will speak about the procedures and challenges.
Iggy is also getting ready to fly 737 Max aircraft when they resume flying again. He will share his simulator experience with the infamous aircraft - MCAS, run away trim and all.
Iggy will also share his experience transitioning from a regional airline to a major airline.
