We are in the early growth-period of electric vehicles and our future looks even brighter. At out February meeting, John McVicker, electric vehicle (EV) enthusiast, and active organizer for National Electric Drive Week events in the Philadelphia area, will carry us through a fascinating discussion of EV technologies and sales growth since the introduction of the Tesla Roadster, through the Leaf/Volt era of 2011 and on to today. Then we'll talk about the future--reviewing emerging trends, 2025 expectations and considerations for buying your EV.
MAREA is so pleased to have John share his EV expertise, research and experience with us. We hope you'll join us! His presentation is Tuesday, February 26 , at 7:00 at TEKPark (9999 Hamilton Boulevard, Breinigsville, PA 18031, between Kutztown and Allentown).
MAREA meetings are free and open to the public. All are invited! After the meeting, please plan to stick around and chat with friends old and new. Light snacks will be served. Hope to see you there!
John McVicker grew up within walking distance of two 2.4GW hydro power plants. This “sparked” interest in power production early in John’s life. John raised a family in Chester County, PA and while doing so began participating in remote control car racing with his son. He saw a transition from the “gas” vehicles to Lithium batteries in the late ’00 and could see that our cars would soon follow. John attended two MAREA energy fairs soon after, started shopping for Solar PV and an EV and continued on studying the EV industry ever since. John has assisted in the production of four local National Electric Drive Week events in the Philadelphia area and has been a Solar PV owner and Chevy Volt driver since 2012.
